One year ago today, Kobe Bryant publicly asked to be traded.

Two big trades and the tightest regular season in league history later followed.

Yesterday, the Lakers made it to the NBA finals.

Is it a Russian spy?

50 years ago today...

America was freaked out by the Soviet Union. Sputnik I was launched. It only stayed in orbit for 92 days, but it changed the world.

Well, this wonderful weather today has made me decide to post.

It seems like everyday I am at Mason, I discover something else that they are building. Child Development center, Engineering and IT school, AVT building, and the list goes on. In terms of my life, I am not really thrilled with school right now. My classes are rather boring to me and I have a fair amount of homework. The bright spot this week (besides getting Peter Haase as my violin teacher) was...I don't remember now. What was it? I honestly have forgotten since beginning that sentence. Oh well. Oh yes! I started Ender's Game on Thursday. It's pretty good.

I was very happy to learn about a week ago that I made the first violin section in orchestra. Now I just have to learn the music that I was starting to learn the 2nd violin part. More work.

On a different note, I am taking the new member's class at church. I figure I might as well, considering I don't know how long I'll be here for. The downside is that it limits the days I get to sleep in to a decent hour to Fridays and sort of Saturdays (I work on Sat. and leave early for school all the other days). I get to sleep in until 8:45. Oh joy!

Well, I can't think of anything interesting else to say, so good-bye.

Ciao, ciao!

Remus

Does anyone have any recommendations for new colors?

Ciao, mis amigos!

Since my last post, I have performed in my senior recital, graduated from high school, gone to nationals, finished my debate and speech career, hung out with friends and family, auditioned for the Mason music department, gone to orientation, registered for classes, taken dance lessons, and started a job at Williams-Sonoma. Right now, I am on vacation in upstate NY con mi familia.

Last Sunday, we were supposed to leave to come up here at 8am. In typical Inglis vacation style, instead of leaving at 8, we left at 9am (it's better than the 11am). After a 6.5 hour drive and a pause for lunch, we arrived at Seneca Lake in the finger lakes. Lake Seneca is about 25 miles long and about 625 ft deep at its deepest. There are 51 wineries and vineyards around the lake. We have a very nice house on the lake with a dock, kayak, canoe, and rowboat. Since then we have been sitting around reading, playing games, swimming, boating, and taking trips to Wegman's for food. We have also been on a few walks in state parks in the area. I am reading The Count of Monte Cristo. I have about 400 pages left. I have enjoyed the story, but I think Dumas has taken a little too much time to tell certain things. On Wednesday night (a week ago), Daddy, Mommy, Melanie, Emily, and I drove about 2 hours to Darien Lake (an amusement park) for a Newsboys concert. The others besides Emily and I didn't want to see any of the other bands, so we didn't arrive until about 20 minutes before the Newsboys got on stage. The concert was still really good. Over the weekend, Daddy's younger brother, David, and his family came over for about 4 days. They stayed in the house of a friend of theirs and came to visit during the day.

Yesterday, we went to Niagara falls. It was awesome. Both sets of the falls were huge. We left at about 8:30 or 9am. We did several little things there. We did a walk where we actually got to walk on a little wooden walkway at the base of the American side of the falls. Then we went over to Canada and took a boat trip up the river to the base of the horseshoe falls (the Canadian side of Niagara). We also went on a walk behind the Canadian side of the falls. The overlooks are built on both sides of the falls so that you can get right next to the crest of the falls and look down. Many opportunities for suicide...just jump the small railing and you're pretty much finished. Unless you survive, which has happened before. We were going to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe in the Canadian city of Niagara Falls, but Mommy didn't want to. So we at a restaurant called the Secret Garden instead . We arrived back at the house at about 11:30pm.

We have about 4 days left in our vacation. Then one more week until school starts.

Ciao Ciao!
